Mughal, Akbar (AH 963-1014, 1556-1605AD), Silver Square Rupee, 11.27 gms, 19.79 mm, Dar-us-Sultanat Lahore Mint, AH 987, The Obverse of the coin is inscribed with Persian legend- name of Akbar between two parallel lines ‘Jalaluddin Muhammad Akbar Badshah Ghazi’,
“جلالدین محمد اکبر بادشاہ غازی”
Khaldallah Mulkahu’ “خالد اللہ ملکہ”on top and mint name ‘Zarb Dar-us-Sultanat Lahore’ at the bottom. the Reverse of the coin is inscribed with kalima in square,‘La ilaha ill Allah Muhammadur-Rasul Allah’
“لآ اِلَهَ اِلّا اللّهُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُوُل اللّهِ”
(There is no God but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah)’, and Surrounded by the 4 great caliphs (khalifas) names and titles, also acknowledged as the Rashidun.
