John Lennon December 1980 Memorial Large Newspaper Collection
The memory of the morning of December 9th, 1980 is still fresh in my mind. Walking around in a daze trying to make sense of the horror. Looking for answers or hoping to read it was just a hoax like Paul's, I bought up every magazine and newspaper I could find at the local New York newsstands. But after the daze faded I could no longer look at these. Packed away in the attic where they have been out of sight, but not out of mind, for nearly 40 years. I feel it's time to let them go.
So far I have found more newspapers then I can count published at the time, if I find any more they will be added to the collection. I've seen other people list "massive" collections, they look puny next to this one. This is close to 20lbs. Selling as a group, so don't ask to purchase individual papers, I won't respond to your request. This is almost as hard to look at now as it was then so I need to make a clean sweep of it. Many of the papers from the first few days are complete newspapers. Some for later days are just the specific excerpts. In some cases there are early and late editions from the same date with updates to the content. Also have included papers from the one year anniversary and a myriad of other bits and pieces from the time period.
